Metabolic diseases have been in the spotlight recently, especially due to the Serious Request MetaKids campaign, which raised awareness and funding for children affected by these rare and often life-threatening disorders. These diseases encompass a wide range of conditions that disrupt the body's ability to process nutrients and maintain energy balance, leading to complex medical challenges.
Rebecca Heiner is a clinical chemist at the UMCG. She is focussed on enhancing the lives of patients who are born with a metabolic disorder by early screening and diagnostics. In this talk, we will learn more about the diagnostics of metabolic diseases and the impact it has on children.
If you want to learn more about this topic you should join our Themed Lunch Lecture on Thursday, the 24th of April. It will start at 13.00 with lunch, after which Rebecca Heiner will tell us more about metabolic diseases. It will end around 14:30. There are 50 places available. If more than 50 people sign up a draw will be held on the 17th of April.
Kind regards,
